The restaurant sources beef from the same supplier it has used since 2003 and keeps tables turning every 90 minutes on weeknights. A few blocks away, diners line up outside Gran Bar Danzón on Libertad Street in Recoleta for its duck confit and wine list that features 18 Argentine malbecs under 7,000 pesos a bottle. Both spots require reservations through the city’s main booking apps at least two days ahead.
San Telmo’s weekend market adds another layer. Stalls along Defensa Street sell choripán sandwiches for 2,200 pesos each, while the covered section offers fresh empanadas baked on site. The market runs Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until supplies run out, usually by mid-afternoon.
