More than 250,000 SMEs in Buenos Aires now use AI-powered automation to address labor costs and inflation. Early adopters have recorded 94 percent time savings and 78 percent cost reductions inside 90 days, according to data tracked by workflow platforms serving the city.

These figures matter because the city serves as Argentina’s main technology center and the Government of the City of Buenos Aires has already contracted Substrate AI to roll out its Serenity Star platform. The deployment will power the intelligent assistant BAX and handle analysis of urban planning files plus routine administrative work.

Voice tools cut missed calls sharply

Local businesses have also installed AI voice agents that speak natural Spanish with an Argentine accent. These systems have lowered missed calls by 95 percent and reduced phone-line expenses by 60 percent for participating firms. The same companies operate inside an AI district that offers zero local taxes and regulatory sandboxes designed to test new tools while linking to university reskilling programs.

National bill sets limits on autonomous entities

At the same time, President Javier Milei’s bill on non-human corporations would let AI agents form companies and sign contracts, provided a human administrator remains in place for oversight. The measure aims to give legal structure to fully automated operations while keeping final responsibility with people. City officials and business owners now weigh how these national rules will interact with the local tax breaks and sandbox experiments already underway.
