How we reported this

Buenos Aires offers a mix of running terrain: a large central park, a nature reserve on the river's edge, and a restored dockside promenade that connects the two. Here are some of the best running routes in Buenos Aires.
Bosques de Palermo
Bosques de Palermo, formally Parque Tres de Febrero, is Buenos Aires' largest and most popular park, with a flagship loop on a mix of paved paths and packed dirt trails. It includes the El Rosedal rose garden and a central lake, and locals simply call the main loop "El Bosque". It is a default choice for both residents and visiting runners.
Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve
Costanera Sur is a reserve directly on the Río de la Plata, with a perimeter path and interior trails. It was designated a natural reserve in 1986 and is recognised as an Important Bird Area, with many recorded species, against a backdrop of the Puerto Madero skyline across the water. Inside the reserve, a shorter loop offers quieter lagoon views away from the main perimeter path.
Puerto Madero Riverside
Puerto Madero's paved boardwalk runs along restored 19th-century brick docks, flat and well-lit, popular for after-work runs among the converted warehouses and modern towers, and connects directly into the Costanera Sur reserve entrance for a longer combined run.
Running the Marathon Route
The Buenos Aires Marathon, first held in 1984 and typically run in October, follows a course that passes River Plate Stadium, Avenida Libertador, Palermo, the tango district around Corrientes Avenue, La Boca's Caminito and Puerto Madero before finishing near Casa Rosada, tying together several of the individual routes above into the city's single biggest running event.
Practical Guide to Running in Buenos Aires
Bosques de Palermo and Puerto Madero are both busiest in the early evening; Costanera Sur, being larger and further from the main tourist areas, tends to stay quieter even at peak times. Summer months (December to February) can be hot and humid, so a morning start is the more comfortable option for longer runs.
